Sermons By Swango (SBS) is a work of Gregory L. Swango.
Greg was born in Mattoon, IL in 1956 and has lived in central Illinois for most of his life.
His educational background includes graduating High School in Monticello , IL (1974); a B.S. in Computer Management from Eastern Illinois University (1978)
and a M.A. from EIU in Speech (1993). Greg has been married to his wife Bonnie for 32 years. They have two boys; Andrew (and wife Laurin, son Leighton) of Lewisville,
TX; and Alexander, who is currently doing mission work in Peterhead , Scotland . Greg began is preaching career in 1980 as the Youth Minister for the Sunnyside Rd.
church of Christ in Decatur. After leaving youth ministry, he has preached for the Northeast church of Christ in Sentinel, OK and the Lake Land church of Christ
in Mattoon , IL . He returned to the Sunnyside Rd. church in 1997 and preached there until his retirement from full-time ministry in 2009. While with the Lake Land
and Sunnyside congregations there were several years that he served as both preacher and elder. For many years Greg was camp director and served on the board
of Illinois Christian Camp. He has regularly helped with Exhibit Evangelism at the Illinois State Fair, Springfield . Part of Greg’s 29 year, full-time ministry,
also included radio and television work, and writing a weekly newspaper article. He is an author with two books in print; The Three Worlds of Eternity (2001)
and Victory Assured! (2009). Greg now works part-time for the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes of Decatur, and is an adjunct Instructor at Richland Community
College in Speech. He continues to serve in the Lord’s church by teaching Bible classes and doing some fill-in preaching. His hobbies include golf, and reading.
